I made a thing.
It’s not terribly helpful I suppose, but I felt like making it anyhow.

Did this part not make the final cut?

no (eyes dart back and forth in a guilty manner)
At least I keep a giant sheet of cardboard underneath.

Thank god that’s not an issue on subarus, the drain plug leaks too much.

Your hands show for a week after that you changed your diesel oil.

I ranked all my sumps (and ease/mess of oil changes )one day a few years ago.
Some are drippier than others.

I know(grumbles). I apparently ran out of disposable gloves. That made making this extra annoying, because I had to wash my hands every few seconds so that I wasn’t touching my camera with oily hands.

This one is really easy. Drain plug is easy to get to but no matter how quickly I sneak up on it I get some oil on my hands. Filter removal is the easiest and least messy of any vehicle I’ve done oil changes.
